First real update
I pretty well hate blogs, and that’s the main reason I haven’t posted much yet. But Adam’s demanding more for some reason, so I’ll try to write a bit. Rather than tell everything that’s happened from the time I arrived, I’m going to start with right now and fill in the gaps later if I feel like it.
So we (me, Natsumi, Jeff, Brian, and Heather) went to Akihabara yesterday to look for keitai. On the way Natsumi mentioned it was her first trip to Akihabara. We questioned her ability to actually guide us (as well as whether she was really Japanese). But we made it alright. Unfortunately after spending the afternoon meandering through the mess that that town is, we determined we’d be better off buying them back at Yuen. I was somewhat disappointed by Akihabara, probably because I’d heard so much already that there wasn’t much to be surprised about. It matches what people say. Anyhow, we went back to the Kan to get some more identification that we might need, and then went into town to try again. We took Yuta because at one point we thought we were going to get the phones under Japanese names and they could each only do 2 people for some reason. But once again we couldn’t find a place with decent plans for three month stays. We are probably going to wind up buying prepaid phones. More details on that when it happens.
Today I’m probably going to do some laundry and go to the ATM if it’s open, and study a bit. Tomorrow is “Respect for the Aged Day” so we have a 3-day weekend. And I’m hungry so that’s it for now!
