I didn’t post about this earlier because I didn’t want anybody to worry, but this last week I had a wisdom tooth act up. My gums behind it got all sore and swollen and it hurt to eat. Kind of ironic that it would happen now since I’ve had them so long with no problems before. Probably an infection. I looked into getting antibiotics, which I was at first told I could get over-the-counter, but turned out would require a prescription (no shit, Sherlock). It was a huge pain but after consulting some friends I decided to tough it out and not risk a Japanese dentist. I heard they aren’t too good, are expensive, and usually don’t use anesthetic. So, I doped up on painkillers and today it seems to be on the downward slide. I’ll probably get them out when I get home.
On a brighter note, my homestay ended today so I can finally get back to the ‘Kan. It was culturally interesting and all, but I’ll be glad to get back. Whoever decided to schedule these things right in the middle of when most people tend to get the worst culture shock needs to be struck with a blunt object. I also got a package from my folks, so that was good. I’m listening to the new Cake album right now, and it’s great. Tonight I think we are going out to Roppongi or Shibuya or somewhere in search of foreign cuisine (it’s been so long since I’ve had Mexican…).
Commentary
Is your wisdom tooth OK already? I've worried about you ‘cause I had pulled all of them so I know how they hurt… I hope it’s just temporary one.
