The Revolution Will Be Sautéed
The thing I have been working on full time since this post is finally revealed! It’s called eChef! It’s recipe software! You can download it for free! You can buy it for $40!
So here’s the basic idea: iTunes for recipes. Cooking is hot—nay, hawt, and the industry drives some pretty hot technologies (I am still wary of whatever black magic those microwaves that can ‘sense’ your food use). But in software, it’s way behind the curve. Why can’t organizing your recipes be as easy as organizing your music in iTunes? Why can’t sharing recipes be as easy as sending email? And why can’t all those big organizations with big recipe libraries (e.g. Food Network or Martha Stewart Living) make it easier for you to get their recipes?
Well now, you can do pretty much all of that. eChef aims to make recipe organization as slick and easy as possible. That’s really all that can be said. If you need more convincing, go download it and try it for yourself. The trial is fully functional and nag free. (It will prompt you at each launch in order to provide an opportunity to enter a license code, but that’s it.)
Commentary
Wow — I downloaded this trial and it works GREAT! Andrew, did you code this entirely by yourself? Must have been a lot of work! Good job.
